Preservation is Part of the Craft
Care is not an afterthought; it is a continuation of the craft.
Our pieces are made to endure, but their elegance is preserved through thoughtful attention. With time, the materials evolve, softening and deepening in character to evidence a life well lived. We encourage a gentle approach; one that respects the integrity of the piece and honours the work of the hands that created them.
From care guidance to reconditioning and repair, we offer personal support throughout the lifetime of your piece. Whether you’re writing to us after two weeks or two years, we’ll do all we can to help.
Care Guidelines
Leather
Our leathers are soft, supple, and resistant to daily wear.
To preserve their finish, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperatures. When not in use, store your piece in its dust bag, away from direct heat or humidity.
Leather is prized for its rich patina, which deepens over time, allowing its character to evolve with age and use.
Avoid contact with water, oils, and coloured fabrics that may stain. To care for these pieces, gently dust with a soft cloth and allow them to breathe between wears. Store in their dust bag, and never seal in plastic.
Occasional application of a neutral leather conditioner may be used, though it is not essential for every piece.
Exotic Leathers
Exotic skins such as alligator require a particularly light touch. These pieces should be handled with clean, dry hands and never exposed to excess moisture or direct heat.
To maintain their surface, use only a dry, soft cloth. Never polish or treat with oils. Avoid pressure or bending, and store flat in a cool, dry place.
Precious Metals, Diamonds, and Gemstones
Our hardware is finished in precious metals, including gold and palladium-plating, and, in select pieces, solid sterling silver or gold. Certain creations may also feature hand-set diamonds or natural gemstones.
To preserve their beauty, we recommend handling with care and avoiding contact with moisture, perfumes, or oils. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth and store your piece in its protective pouch or box.
These materials are designed to age with grace, acquiring a soft patina over time. We do not recommend polishing or applying chemical treatments, as this may alter the original finish or unset fine stones.
A Promise to Keep
Every piece is covered by our lifetime guarantee against defects in craftsmanship. This promise reflects not just the standard of our work, but the pride we take in standing behind it. If anything should fall short of what you expect, we ask only that you let us know.

Reconditioning & Refreshing
For collars, leads, and cuffs that have been well loved, we offer a light restoration service: edge paint retouching, leather conditioning, and surface polishing. Think of it as a quiet return to form. This service is available upon request and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Repairs
If your piece has developed a fault or suffered damage, we would be pleased to assess it. We offer complimentary repairs or replacements for issues arising from craftsmanship or materials. For other types of wear such as scuffs, surface tarnishing, or minor tears we will advise on restoration options and any associated costs.

Care is not merely maintenance, it is a quiet form of respect. To preserve what is made with intention is to honour the craft, the maker, and those who wear it.
